It all began about 1986 when Patrick discovered that helping an organization recruit community support for something important can be a lot of fun. Important as in a new radiation oncology center for Lewiston, Idaho. At the time, the nearest radiation oncology services were 100 miles away in Spokane, Washington. The community rallied around the cause of better health services. And Patrick gained valuable lessons about human nature.
THE MOTIVATION TO GIVE, financially, to the charity of one’s choice: It is as American as buckboard wagons and frontier independence. It is through this thing called philanthropy — once unique to the United States and Canada — that we have built many of the institutions that support our quality of life today. Voluntary organizations have been particularly important to the development of the West.
We are a collaborative doing business as MajorGiftsMT. Patrick D. Sheehy is the Senior Consultant. Team members include another consultant, prospect researcher and a writer/editor.
MONTANA, WYOMING, IDAHO and beyond. Because we are a niche consulting team specializing in helping organizations form major and planned gifts program, we are not geographically limited. The locus of our service is provided in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. We can serve and have associates in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
